The technical department of Gurutzpe Turning Solutions, a company of the Etxe-Tar Group, and the R&D department of HERLUCE have been collaborating together, for some years now, in the implementation of new systems in their lathes with the aim of developing an advanced modular multitask system. for turning, corrugating and marking of lamination rolls.

Gurutzpe decided to embark on the development of this project due to the detection of a market opportunity in the rebar manufacturing sector in emerging countries and the trend of machine tools towards multitasking equipment.

Long products derived from steel are mainly destined for the construction industry. Among the main long products are corrugated bars or steel rods. These are mainly used as reinforcement in reinforced concrete construction. They are usually circular section rods with specific diameters from 8 mm to 32 mm or even 40 mm.

Explicado brevemente, podemos decir que la fabricación de la barra corrugada se hace partiendo de una palanquilla de acero (materia prima) que es recalentada y deformada cumpliendo las necesidades de espesor, ésta se deforma mediante rodillos de corrugado diseñados específicamente según las peculiaridades de la varilla (separación entre corrugas, ángulo de inclinación, geometrías, marcaje…). Por tanto, la exactitud en el conformado de las barras depende de la calidad de las máquinas corrugadoras y más concretamente de los rodillos.

Until now, the manufacturers of these machines develop their rollers in two or more settings, making the turning process independent of the rest of the tasks. The need for two pieces of equipment to form parts entails drawbacks related to processing time, part transfer, centering and good quality, among others, which the assemblers of this type of production lines want to eliminate.

MAIN GOAL: The main technical objective of the project is to design a modular multitasking equipment, which allows the implementation of turning, corrugating and marking tasks, maintaining the rigidity, reliability and precision of the lathe.

  • Design of tools capable of working with very hard materials, with low levels of wear and a long useful life.
  • Design of a centering system for corrugated machining.

DESCRIPTION:

Modular multi-tasking system for corrugating and lamination roll marking.
